2.  Rifle-Type Cold Barrel Syndrome  (U)

The second variant of cold barrel syndrome affects the H&K G3/SG-1 and the SSG-550 semi-automatic sniper rifles. The first few rounds fired after the purchase of one of these weapons are well off target. Note that unlike the pistol-type cold barrel syndrome where only the miss decals are incorrect, these rounds really are off target.

This effect occurs every time after the purchase of one these weapons. The obvious solution is to fire off a few rounds (perhaps five) after purchase. The author regards this as a bug, since it has no value as an intentional game feature because it is so easily avoided.

Note that the mis-firing occurs over the first few rounds fired from these weapons, regardless of who bought the weapon in the first place. If a G3 or SSG-550 is recovered from a dead player, and that player did not fire off the initial rounds, then the new owner will still find the first few shots being off target.
